Close to you - The Carpenters

I was having me dinner just now in the kitchen and Jackie was there too having her night cap. I was glad she was there! :-)

You know, it is nice just being among certain people. And i've been blessed wif such flatmates!

Posted by Picasa
Alberto - charming as usual; Aliz - laughing as usual; and Lin Lin - being sweet as always!

The first flatmate that i met when i came here was Lin Lin. She is the sweetest girl you'll ever know! She is frenly and nice. She always have a smile ready for anyone! I remember on the second day when i had to go and register, the queue was really long and as i stood there in the cold, all alone, i noticed someone coming up to me, waving excitedly and smiling. It was her! It was really nice especially when u are all alone and know no one else in the place.

(Oh, she reminds me a lot of Jen May back home - another one who is always sweet and have smile for you!).

Talking about smiles, you should see Alberto's smile. For those who may not have met any Italians before but have heard about their charm and all, well lemme tell you that it is all true! Alberto has this disarming smile - the kind that would put anyone at ease. His mannerisms - typical Italian wif all the hand movements. He is humble and polite (except when he first saw me wearing a Liverpool jersey - he's an AC Milan fan!!!!). Add that all with the fact that he has a wonderful sense of humour and you know what i mean when i say it is nice to be wif him!

Finally, there's Aliz. She is one that you will hear first before seeing her. No, i dun mean she is loud. She's not. But you can hear her laughing from far away. She is always in such a good mood - and never fails to see the humour in everything! We all agree that just being in her presence lifts up our spirits - and we all agreed that the thing we'll miss most about her is her lovely laugh!

It is indeed so sad that Aliz and Alberto has left us. But now we have Jackie! She is something like Aliz in that she laughs very easily. The other day, we were talking about jap food and i told her that i like sashimi. She said that she'll make some for me one day. i commented that it must be fresh - so she would prolly have to go and catch the fish first. To my surprise, she burst out laughing! No, it wasn't like the rolling on the floor Stephen Chow type of funny, but she was truly amused by that!

That's a nice change from the rolling eyes i normally receive back home each time i attempt to make a joke... ;-P

Yeah, it's really nice being around people like these! :-) I'll try to get a pic of Jackie and post it up (some of u guys are oredi asking for the pic - patience!).

Comments:
