Dilemma - Nelly feat. Kelly Rowland

I've always been an England fan. Just like why i'm a Liverpool fan, it was influenced by me bro.

See the pic on the right? That's me during Chinese New Year this year - back in feb - decked out in me England colours! (Yup, tt's how i look wif short and tidy hair - some of me flatmates can't remember how i look wif short hair!!!!!).

It was major heartache for me in 1990 when England went out on penalties against Germany in the semis.

So am i all excited over their chances this time round?

I. Really. Don't. Know.

For one, i really, really dun like the coach. Wat a waste of good money! His choice of players, tactics and substitution is always a source of mystery not only to me but to footie pundits here.

Their first game this time round proved it again. While they started off well, they seem to lose direction in the 2nd half. This was compounded by the act of taking off Owen and leaving Crouch alone up front. Crouch is target man but who was he gonna knock the ball down for?

They tried to get Joe Cole to play in the hole behind Crouch and act as 2nd striker. The question that Alan Shearer asked after the match was why did they put a midfield player to play a striker's role when England has a striker on the bench? Was it cuz the sriker on the bench was untested Theo Walcott? Does Ericsson think Walcott may not be ready? If so, then why bring him in the first place? If it was Defoe or Johnson or Bent, surely they would be given the chance?

Crazy. England's game went down and they escaped by the skin of their teeth. The only chances they had was Lampard shooting directly at the goalie!

The other sub made was Owen Hargraves. It is still a mystery to many on why he is constantly in England's team!!!

Crouch? At least he got a good Robot dance...

Gerrard was made the holding midfield again - which he did reasonably well. But c'mon, look at how he plays as the attacking midfield for Liverpool! let him do that - especially when you have a more natural holding midfield players like Carrick.

I was almost rooting for Paraguay to score at the dying minutes - they deserved it.

But typically, England won by a 1-0 scoreline - and it wasn't an English striker (or for that matter, player) who made it on the scoresheet.

Sigh... so frustrating.

All the BBC pundits criticised the tactics. Read about it here.

It is no secret that some of the England player are not me fav ones too!

I know at the end of the day, i'll be rooting for them - but it is getting more and more difficult.

So for now, it's Japan and Korea while they are still in the competition! I'll be watching the Jap game wif me Japanese coursemates next week! Shud be fun. :-)
