No need to argue - The Cranberries

"Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

These were the words quoted by the Pope last week which caused anger among people of a certain faith. So are the quoted words true?

Let's look at the response. It has been varied but this caught me eye today:-

Militants vow war, Vatican tries to calm Pope row

By Stephen Brown and Philip Pullella

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Al Qaeda militants in Iraq vowed war on "worshippers of the cross" and protesters burned a papal effigy on Monday over Pope Benedict's comments on Islam, ...

In Somalia, an Italian nun was killed on Sunday in an attack one Islamist source said could be linked to the dispute.

Res ipsa loquitor.

Comments:
Mmm...I dunno abt tt my learned friend. Similarly, cd we presume the same correlation between God's OT commands to wipe out the Philistines and the Holy Crusades? It wd seem that one cd argue tt res ipsa loquitor similarly applies in tt scenario also. I humbly submit that as with any religion with a codified source, the problem arises when its followers become "lawyers", rather than it being a problem with the religion itself.
