Foolish games - Jewel

I guess it's nice to play a trick on people, and have a laugh at their expense. Is it?

I remember once when we were waiting at the bus stop, we decided to put a theory to test. Our teacher just told us that people are by nature curious, and if you stop in the middle of the street and look up into the sky, a few minutes later, u'll be joined by a group of people.

We did that - and sure enuf, everyone in the bus stop joined us. It was a laugh - but we did feel a lil bad in the end for playing such a trick on those poor innocent people. At least i did.

Then there was another time at out Youth Fellowship - i was wanting to teach the youths about self-control (in terms of anger) and the correct way of dealing with difficult people. I got DB, our staff member who is the joker of our pack and conspired wif him to put up an act during the meeting. I would be giving announcements and he'd start making jokes. But this time he'll go a bit too far and i'll lose it in front of all the youths and we'd end up in a shouting match.

It worked much better than we hd planned. As we were putting on the show, i noticed among the crowd 2 expressions - one was wif shock! "This can't be happening!!!" The other look was one of a knowing smile - "Ah, nice trick. Not bad acting. But we see thru it".

Then the unexpected happen. HC, another member of the staff quickly decided to take things into control, grabbed DB and dragged him out of the hall. The knowing smiles disappeared and was replaced wif a "eh, now wat's happening? Is it real?" look.

We all had a good laugh about it - esp HC, too! And the youths had a memorable object lesson.

It's April the 1st today. I remember the highlights of this day is to read the news reports and guess which are April Fool tricks - and listen to the Fly Guy and Lil' Kev to see what they are up to. There was once when they played the same song over and over again thruout their morning show. they'd anounce one song but still play the same song!

I guess when you grow older, you kinda get over playing "April Fool tricks". In fact, it's prolly one of the last things on your mind.

Yeah, so i got it! Real bad. Hook, line and sinker. And i got it yesterday - when it was oredi April the 1st back home but still March over here. It only took me hours later when the day changed to 1st April that i realised wat a fool i was.

Well, i'd normally laugh over it and forget about it. I will.

But i just have to say that some things are not meant to joke about. I actually believed it and it truly spoilt my day. I was relieved that it turned out to be a joke. Not amused, tho.
