Enter from the East - Jewel

While i'm not crazy and fanatical over it, i've always liked Japanese anime. Some of the animation are truly brilliant! But the two main things about anime that appeal to me are the storyline and the characters.

Reagrding the latter, they are always so interesting. And amusing - or cute! I love the way they over-react to things, how animated (pun intended) they are, how so full of life they are. And so full of heart! :-)

Well, i realise now that it is art imitating life - or is it the other way round? Having Jackie (or Chiaki) around is like having a rel life anime character around! In a nice way, of course. She is so full of life and so animated. Like the other day, when we went to tesco together, i was amused at her reactions whenever we found something she was looking for. She was so excited and happy over little things - and she is not afraid to express it!

Yesterday, we had a birthday celebration for some of our flatmates and Jackie was in charge of the food. We decided to have sushi and she gladly agreed to take charge. It was really fun - a good excuse for us all to be together in th kitchen and work together. A nice break from our studies!

Jackie bought some flowers to brighten up the place and we all had fun together, learning and making mistakes - and loads of sushi too! She was really patient cuz none of us had real sushi maing experience so all of us were like "Jackie, is it alright? Is this OK? Is this the right way?" all the time. And she was all over the place helping us and giving instructions.

At the end of the day, she started doing the washing up up - til we all felt bad and helped out! ;-P

It was a complete waste of time in terms of our exams as no studying was done last nite (altho some did go back to their rooms and to their books later) - but no one really minded! Good fun, good food, good company! What more can one ask for (besides more time to study...)???

How we all felt last nite - happy and very "round"!!!!! ;-)
