I'll stand by you - The Pretenders

First of all, an apology to anyone who may have been offended wif the language I used in the previous post. 10 years of pent-up hurt turned into anger - and trust me, it took a lot of will-power not to use stronger language...

Anyways...

Watched me first footie match here - in a pub, of course! Can't afford the ridiculous ticket prices. Even at the pub, I just went in and stayed there the whole game without buying anything.

It was England v. Poland and I went wif me Polish hall-mate, Tom to see England lose! We din get to. Tom left early to avoid the disappointment.

It was very tiring as there was only standing room - we were seated at the back intially but cud not see a thing so we had to join the rest standing at the front. Man... standing for the whole game is tiring!!!!

Still, it was enjoyable! England actually played well - perhaps it was due to the fact that Beckham wasn't playing??? Rooney was simply excellent and Shaun Wright-Phillips shud be given a more permanent place in the team!

In the end, most (if not all - save for Tom and his Polish fren) left pretty satisfied. Me included. As much as I dislike the present coach and the tactics employed, as well as the present first choice captain, I am after all an England fan!

But me legs are aching now...

Comments:
ah... sumone whom i can talk footie wif without hearing any biased opinions!!!! ok, u got me started!

to be honest, robinson din really have much to do!!! but all the same, i'm glad its bye bye james. i'm still rooting for kirkland!!!!

rio is overated lah! but terry shud be made captain of england! luke young? too young and inexperienced (pun intended). while many blamed carragher for poland's goal, methinks young shud have covered the far post. instead he left the polish striker unmarked and was found in no man's land. gary neville is ok as long as he doesn't suddenly decide to play volleyball (remember how he conceded the free kick to liverpool which led to murphy scoring?).

lamps and gerrard obviously can't play together lah. they need a holding midfiled ala makelele - perhaps king or butt or carrick. that way, i would free up either gerrard or lampard. doesnt matter who.

giggs is english! he chose to play for wales cuz his mom is welsh... i think!

becks? he can't dribble, he cant head, he cant... heard it all b4 rite? and u r correct bout owen and rooney not being headers too. unless crouch plays...

owen? crap-lah. the goal against poland? it was pure luck. and if he hadn't score, rooney was there to put it away.

enuf said bout rooney - england is crap without him.

the right man for the right side is wright-phillips!

wat is jenas doing in the team???

guys.
*rolls eyes*
