Bad day - Daniel Powter

Was supposed to meet up wif some mates online to play some games. But when we did, one of us could not get his Internet Explorer to work!!!! Was so looking forward to that! :-( This weekend guys? KC, hopefully yr IE is working by then!

Then, so many people were on msn - windows popping up all over, trying to conduct many conversations on MSN while talking on Skype! It actually left me wif a headache!!! Methinks it was a combi of many things - the crazy weather, not being able to sleep etc. It has been a while since me had a headache (a miracle, no doubt!).

Wif so many people online - and connections getting on and off randomly, we din really get to chat much.

I called up an old fren in London and asked if he could meet up on Thurs or Friday but he wasn't free on either days.

I got an e-mail from a coursemate - i had been ahead of her a couple of weeks ago when i manage to get a supervisor and a tentative topic while she had neither. Well, she told me that she has now a rough draft out - and i realised i havent done anything for a long long while. :-(

I went to sleep - and woke up wif another headache!

And then, i din get to hear from someone today.

Sigh...

Ok, ok. Some of you will prolly be asking "You call that a bad day?????" Well, in comparison wif the past few days, it feels like that!! But the title of this post is not referring to the events of today - not really.

I was surfing randomly just now when i came across Daniel Powter's music video on Bad day. Truth be told, i din know who he was nor wat the song sounds like. But i listened to it.

When it started playing, i recognised it at once (i know loads of songs but not their titles)! tho i cant remember where i heard it from. More research online and the mystery was solved - it was used in American Idol as the signature song for booted out contestants! All together now, "Oohhhhhhhhh!".

The music video is excellent! You have to check it out if u are like me, not keeping up wif music videos. Watch it at YouTube here. Brilliant stuffs! I just love the whole concept. It brought a smile to me face... and left me misty eyed!

The pic is a video grab from the music video featuring Samaire Armstrong doing some neat graffiti (some trivia - do you know graffiti is the plural of graffito?) and it was taken from here.

Here are the lyrics - to those who are having a real bad day, unlike me!

Bad day

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on

Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down
You sing a sad song, just to turn it around
You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day, the camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

You had a bad day, you're taking one down
You sing a sad song, just to turn it around
You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day, the camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day

(Oh.. Holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing it turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down
You sing a sad song, just to turn it around
You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day, you've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day (2x)
Had a bad day

(Written and performed by Daniel Powter)

Comments:
word of advice: DON'T WATCH XMEN3!!! horrible, 'no-heart' movie. as one reviewer in imdb pointed out "Gone is the subtle, inventive dialog from parts 1 and 2. It is replaced by clichéd phrases that are delivered by a visibly unmotivated cast, Hugh Jackman being the best example, a mere shadow of himself. For every funny one-liner in this movie, there are at least ten that will make you wince."
save ur money.

on second thoughts, GO WATCH XMEN3! download a pirated copy or something. i just need more ppl to condemn the movie together. no other trilogy-ender could be as bad as this. not even matrix revolution.

actually, was planning to watch it yesterday b4 our game session - if i did, then it would really go along wif yesterday's theme!!!!!!

that bad-eh? can't be worse than Blade Trinity!

i still wanna colour my hair like Rogue's - jus me fringe, but will wait til it gets longer!

hmmm... if u've watched xmen3, u might rethink ur position of copyin rogue. arghh i m still bottlin lots of anger on how they ended it. really, it's an insult to anyone who know even a little about xmen (read any one of the comics, watched any episode of the cartoon, etc). arghhhhhhhhh, such a bad after taste...

Xmen 3 sucks...I went with Jee Lee, Joshua, Samuel and Chris- and thankfully the cinema wasn't very full cause we were laughing SO much at the LAME-o lines, ("You would die for them,?" ; "No...for you" *puke!*) and horrible scenes. Also there so much no-logic stuff..

Dont bother obi mun, but if u do make sure u stay back after the credits cause there's a last scene thats 'important'. I didnt know and missed it cause the Cathay Cinema (new one near curve) was shining spotlights at us to leave...

ok lor. i saved me 5 quid oredi!

yeah, heard about the new cinemas at the Curve. good-ah?

shinning spotlights? u guys must hv been making too much noise during the movie!!!! tsk, tsk, tsk!

wish i was there wif u guys! :-P
