Stand - Jewel

Tiananmen Square protester

What can one man do against a fleet of tanks (other footages show an endless stream of tanks behind this first one)? He took his stand on the 4th of June 1989.

We can say a lot, talk a lot, complain a lot - but when the crunch comes, will we able to make the stand?

Sigh... has it been 17 years since the students in Tian An Men were murdered for wanting to be heard, wanting to make a difference, wanting a change?

Sadly, til today, we do not have official figures of how many perished 17 years ago. Families are not compensated - families who lost their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters.

China is emerging to be a world superpower - but the world must demand that it cleans up its human rights act. There can be no compromise.

p/s - i dun know what happened to that bloke who stopped those tanks. unconfirmed reports said that shortly after that incident, he was taken away - and never seen again. Yet his act 17 years later still serves to spur people to dare to make a stand.

Mothers weep, children sleep
So much violence ends in silence
It's a shame there's no one 2 blame
For all the pain that life brings
If u will just take me, it might just complete me
And together we can make a stand
